The Chamber of Notaries of Paris

Real estate transactions are handled by notaries in the Province of Québec; the notary is an independent party working impartially for up to four different parties: the buyers, the sellers, the buyer’s bank financing the purchase, and the seller’s bank holding the current mortgage on the property. The notary ensures that the buyer holds a clear and unequivocal title on the property, and that the sellers receive their monetary counterpart for the purchase. The notary will take multiple steps that you will not see in order to complete the process and protect you for the future, whether as a buyer or as a seller.
